Hurricane Irene caused flooding of local roads, homes, and businesses in the Village of Mamaroneck located on the Long Island Sound in Westchester County, New York overnight and into early morning on Sunday, August 28, 2011.
The mayor, Norman Rosenblum, the village Police and Fire departments, Con Edison, and local residents all played a part in the repair and cleanup efforts.
